I wanted to make a custom header, so I went to the symbol editor, made a symbol (8 pins) and they showed “unnassigned”. Then I went to make 8 thru holes on the footprint editor and figured it would be easy to name the pins 0 through 7 and then assign a pin to a thru hole and be done. But so far the only way I ever got a pin assigned both a symbol and a footprint hole was with the auto footprint generator. Is that the only way?
OMG, this tool seems to have promise, but making parts is just too painful. I can’t assign pins to pads/holes in a footprint!!! So frustrating. I guess online just isn’t ready yet. I’m going to go try autocad’s version again, or eagle.
It has been almost a year and I am having the same problem. Is this going to become usable? Or, has development on this system died?
Hey - you should just need to double click on the pads to assign them. Send me screenshots if thats not working
