Adjusting thermal relief

I’ve got a board with some higher power components on it, where I’d like to adjust the width of the thermal relief ‘spokes’ to be more suitable for the current carried. Failing that, I’d like to adjust the width across the board, as the new width won’t be outlandish even for the smaller parts.

What’s the canonical way to do this? I found a post from Oct 2015 suggesting that back then, you needed to carry a forked edit of the part and footprint to do this, for every part, but that a new feature was about to be released to cover this setting. Presumably this now exists, as that’s nearly four years ago?

If you go to the part page, edit the part, choose the PCB layout and then click on each
padstack, there is a layout option to adjust the thermal spoke width. It doesn’t however seem to work.
Simple fix is adding one or several short trace stubs with the width you want during
layout.
