A 20$ entry level plan? (Like Github)

Let me start saying that I fell in love as soon as I discover Upverter, I believe this is going to be the future of PCB design, for professionals and hobbyist alike.

I can’t stop comparing Upverter with Github since they are similar in many aspects, one for hardware the other one for software, but they share common principals, and of course, Upverter is a way more complex app.

99$ a month for a small startup, a single professional or a electronics enthusiast can be a lot a money, and yes I know there is a free plan, but if you want to keep private 1 or 2 designs you don’t have any options but to pay 99$ a month, and I fear many people feel discourage about it. I am pretty sure that if Upverter has a 20$ plan (like Github), with a maximum of 10 private projects (or less) and maybe no live collaboration, there will be a lot of people happily paying, I will pay 20$/month for just one private project and unlimited public ones and I will be happy knowing that I’m supporting this amazing company with a monthly amount I can afford.

What do you think?

Hey Domingo,

Good news! We’re working on exactly what you’re asking for right now. Our new pricing is going live in just a few days and it will include a small amount of privacy for free. Its not going to be 10 private designs or the $20 plan you’re asking for, but I think its a start. Let me think some more about a $20 lite plan too, it may be something we can also do.

Zak

Hey, Zak. Any updates on a $20 lite plan? I would be very, very interested in something that was similar to the student account previously, or just having the option to tack on more private designs. As a student, $100/month is just not possible for a tool I use once every few months. Although Circuits.io isn’t quite Upverter, their pricing is much more affordable to students who want to keep their work private for the time being. The previous student tier was perfect. What was the logic for dropping it?

Any updates would be appreciated.
