Whistle is looking for an experienced Hardware / Electrical Engineer to lead and execute hardware architecture, design and validation of our next generation of products through individual contributions and management of external partners.

Responsibilities:

Component selection: work with the CTO, firmware, mechanical and product management to architect and select components for future products
Schematic capture/PCB design
RF & Antenna: manage and work with external partners
Manufacturing: responsible for manufacturing test design and development
NPI: work with operations, firmware and EMS partner for defining process and line bring-up

Minimum Qualifications:

BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
5+ years experience developing consumer electronics
Experience as lead EE on a product from concept through completion
Previously owned component selection and board-bring-up of first gen device
Basic exposure and experience with firmware development(must be comfortable working with existing code to make quick changes)
Experienced with driving products through manufacturing abroad

Preferred Qualifications:

Experienced with products that

  • Use wireless communications (WiFi, BT, GPS, Sub-GHz)
  • Are battery powered
  • Are sold internationally
  • Use low power microcontrollers (e.g., cortex or MSP430)
