Description - Mechanical Engineer (Toronto, Canada)
Product: Smart Thermostat
What you will be responsible for:
You’ll create manufacturing test specifications, internal documentation of text fixture design, and external documentation of test fixture operation for manufacturing
You’ll develop manufacturing software in C/C++ that is running on the test fixture and ecobee devices
You’ll assist in the design and debugging of the test fixture hardware
You’ll review production data and create recommendations to increase manufacturing reliability and yield
You’ll be tasked with reducing manufacturing times, increasing reliability, and decreasing failures
Desired Skills and Experience
BSc in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Experience with mass production design and testing requirements
Strong C/C++ object oriented design and coding skills
Multi-thread design and coding experience
PCB design knowledge
Basic mechanics knowledge
Understanding of ARM architecture-based processors and development tools
Hardware design skills and working knowledge of Subversion and Redmine are considered an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio
